55 is it a die break cant seem to find anything on it and on the 58 is the d a true dbl

    found theses 2 in daughters piggy bank cant seem to find any of the 55 that looks like this

    The 55-S is a die chip. It is relatively common and can be found almost anywhere on letters or numbers, particularly on Lincoln cents.

    Keep in mind that the mintmark for the 58-D was hand punched into the die, so such an anomaly would be referred to as a repunched mintmark (RPM). Have you compared it to the list on the link below?
