I can not ID these 3 coins. One is Constantine/Constans/Constantinius but can not ID the reverse.

There is also a Probus with Salus seated feeding a snake on the reverse but I can not find any previous auctions or listings for the coin type so don't know what to price it.

Probus seems to be RIC 562, A. Salus seated may not be common but the coin is not in good condition.

If we help you identify your coins so you can sell them, do we get a percentage of the profit?

Just kidding. Sort of. I enjoy identifying coins for people but not when their goal is flipping rather than full appreciation of the coin :(.

Hopefully I just misunderstood and you really meant "so don't know how to record its value in my collection".

Coins with animals always sell well, but again yours is in terrible condition.

    Check Vcoins for Licinius SOL.

bulk lot bought at auction for price of uncleaned coins so not the best condition.

there are only two listed on ebay at ~$200 in somewhat better condition but the lion walking right seems to be the scarcer version...have not found a single photo of it online

    are they mutually exclusive?

Not necessarily, but you're new to this community and we don't know you well so we don't know your goals and motivations.

There's nothing wrong with making money but this board is mostly populated by collectors so a new poster who appears to be geared towards the selling of coins he knows little about makes us feel like chumps for helping.

Guess I shouldn't speak for everyone. "We" and "us" should probably read "I" and "me" :D

probuslionwalkingrightWW.jpg Got it. Only other image I could find of this coin.
    From Wildwinds.
Seems to be a pretty scarce type.

Scarce or rare doesn't count. It is entirely down to the condition of the coin. If it is unique but crappy, you won't get much for it. Sad but true.

One more I can't figure out.
I believe it is Commodus and
I think the reverse is Laetitia standing left, holding wreath and scepter???
I can't figure out who it is...

If the only coins in the ~40 coin lot that I could not ID due to poor condition include these rarer coins I am very happy with the purchase 20170325_194838.jpg 20170325_194853.jpg

I think both condition and scarcity help, at least in my humble experience watching and participating in hundreds of auctions. I have seen many poor condition rare coins sell for relatively high prices, Caesars, Augustus's, etc, etc. Look at most Sestertius coins-quite poor condition. I think this lion coin, even in this condition, will easily clear $10-20, if not more, on Ebay. That is fine by me. And if it doesn't sell at all and I keep it forever and pass it on to my kids...still a good investment and a win in my books.

Search the Commodus page on Wildwinds for "patera".

Scarcity ratings are meaningless. Since they were given, millions upon millions of coins have been dug up. Nice to put on the label but that is about all.
