The clashes on that link are nothing like what is shown here on the bridge of the nose. I think I'll just wait for a possible explanation from @mikediamond . Chris
A clash followed by overzealous intentional die abrasion, the combination of the two wreaking havoc on Kennedy's nose. The coin received a slightly weak strike, resulting in weakness in the design rim in some areas along with some centralized and peripheral weakness in the design. The term "die adjustment strike" is not appropriate to use for this or any other weak strike, as the vast majority are simply the result of spontaneous press malfunctions.
