Everyone has probably seen the Venus reverse type struck for Julia under her father Titus. My most recent acquisition is a much rarer Vesta type from the same issue. Julia Titi AR Denarius, 3.10g Rome mint, 80-81 AD RIC T389 (R), BMC p. 144 note, RSC 16 Obv: IVLIA IMP T AVG F AVGVSTA; Bust of Julia, draped, r., hair piled high in front and knotted low at back Rev: VESTA in exergue; Vesta std. l., with palladium and sceptre Here Julia is sporting the classic Flavian lady hairdo, unlike on the more common Venus type which has a less elaborate hair style. Just in case anyone wants to duplicate it.
Very nice examples of a highly scarce/rare type!! Congrats guys!! The closest I have is a 'budget fouree' of Domitia.
Yea, I've been a nice streak of late. When you already have all the common types of a speciality there's nothing left but rarities and interesting duplicates. Not that I'm complaining!
Well that's someting we don't often see, congrats If I may : "I prefer the Venus type, butt that one is interesting too !" Q
Another great coin Dave. You do seem to have a knack to spot the rare ones. Of course the knowledge to spot them goes a long way too. I have none of her coins yet. That's something I need to fix.
Wow, David-A => congrats on another OP-Julia Titi ... yah, I still only have this example ... Diva Julia Titi, AE Sesterius
