Reminds me of the 13 d T2 hobo nickel i passed on in a coin shop (for $50) when i was still in my infant stages of collecting. I knew enough back then to be skeptical of the originality, but the thought STILL remains- why would a more modern carver take a key date coin and butcher it, then end up in a shop somehow. This was long before i discovered CT, i would have gotten forum opinions otherwise, if only i had a time machine
This was a coin star find a few years ago. Found it on my desk" the catch all" ,if I recall it did take an acetone bath...needs something a tad bit stronger . Shame the crud on the rev. Could be a $100. Find.
The crud has definitely detailed the coin but, even with that. The horn is still half visible, the feathers are looking good, and an readable date with designer initial. That in my opinion fits into the Fine category.
