This was my first tetradrachm. Though I have a thing for fractional silver, as well, there is nothing like the feel of 17 grams of solid silver in your hand!

Well, not the same ruler, but this was my first tet:

Antiochus VII Euergetes, Seleucid Kingdom, BC 138-129
    AR, tetradrachm, 16.59g, 30mm; 12h; Antioch
Obv.: Diademed head of Antiochus VII right
Rev.: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOY EVEPΓETOY; Athena Nikephoros standing left; to outer left, monogram above A; all within wreath

At least it's a Seleucid! And it started me down an expensive path...

I think most of us here have said the same words sometime in our lives since discovering these fantastic pieces of the past. But hey, think of it like this: There are a lot worse addictions out there!
