I'm telling you, the next worst thing to browsing coins while drunk is browsing coins while half asleep. So in my last bout of insomnia, I got up in the middle of the night and started my dangerous trek. I knew how small Indian Fanams are but my brain couldn't process anything logical at the time. The only thing I knew was, next morning when I woke up I was like "what just happened?" :D

Well at least they're pretty to look at.

I honestly can't see a duck or lion, just looks like a piece of abstract art to me!

I suspect most fanums are sold to people who want a gold coin and are unclear on just how small they are. So far I have avoided getting one but I know I could not resist one with Steve and a duck.

You haven't lived until you've gotten completely trashed and bought a fanam.

hey nice IR...one of these is actually on my sober want list! these are nice looking little coins.

i'll post one of of my AE indian lions (looks like a pokemon character as some have pointed out) from about the same time period as your second coin.

I bought one deliberately and had a loop soldered on for my daughter's mother-in-law to use on a chain as a neckless (she's from India). Moderately cheap and quite unique.

    Wow, nice thread ...

    :bear:

Anyway => I buy 90% of my coins when I'm hammered ... the other 10% tend to be boring and predictable

Yah, apparently Mr. Hyde has way better coin-taste than Dr. Jekyll!!

=> icerain => congrats on adding those semi-blurry beer-goggle coins!!

I actually really like 'em (sadly, I haven't been drunk enough to pull the trigger on one of those types yet!!)
