Sent a submission to PCGS and was nervous until I got confirmation. It was supposed to arrive Thursday, then Friday, then Saturday and then finally Monday.

On Monday, it said left with an individual at the address. Problem with that is that you ship to a PO Box. By the end of the day, I had confirmation of receipt by PCGS. Thank goodness, I could finally breathe.

Now I get to wait for a couple months for the grades. If I’m lucky, I’ll have them back in January.

Share your tales of woe with PCGS or USPS or anything. Thanks

Same here. Sending to a PO Box is nerve-wracking. The PCGS one works out okay, though.

Sending your "babies" out in the wild west of the USPS (and into the hands of SOME OF the characters who work at the distribution centers) is worrisome.

I have a UPS driver who does not bring packages to the front door but leaves them in front of the garage door. Problem is that he indicates on the delivery completion notification that I signed for the package.

The best way to ship to a P.O. Box is to ship it so it just be signed for.

At least USPS will leave you a slip in the mailbox for packages that require a signature. I once had FedEx leave a four-figure returning NGC submission of mine hanging on my front gate in a clear plastic bag, in full view of any passers-by. Dangling there like an invitation.

Thankfully the road traffic in front of my house whizzes past pretty fast, with few drivers paying attention to our property, and there are no pedestrians to speak of. More deer and raccoons than humans in my rural neighborhood. Still, that package hung out there a few hours, totally vulnerable. The plastic bag would've protected it from the rain, but nothing else.
