What are you seeing with the surfaces of these nickels. I went thru about a $1 of them last night. They all had these frosty surfaces. What is the luster like on the ones you have seen? Is this an early die state? Whats your opinion? I just find them odd in a neat way; it just isn't the type of surfaces I usually find in new rolls and registers.

CoinCorgi Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!

The one example I found in change has a "normal" finish. No frost. It was minted at the Denver Mint.

I get them in change often and most still have a brightness to them but sometimes they look like they could be from the 80's or 90's. Have to look twice.

Nice looking coins. The only ones I have seen, I had to buy but no frosty coins.
