ICG also offers a discount to CT members :D and I'll repeat that I think they are the most accurate of the top 4 (CAC is still too new to the slabbing world to judge yet :D)

For many years, I have been a big fan of both NGC and PCGS. They have been very kind to me. This changed a while back.

When I started selling parts of my collection at Great Collections, I used the Market place here and at NGC and PCGS to advertise my listings. All was good until NGC told me that I could not show any PCGS coins on their Market place forum and they were not very nice about it.

No problem. I just quit using the NGC Market place. I was not trying to harm them in anyway. I was just selling coins in several brands of plastic.

I voted for PCGS but........they are a little uppity for their britches, customer service is lousy but I like their gold shield holders best of all. Like everyone else knows, they all make mistakes. I've seen some sketchy stuff from every TPG out there. For higher value coins, it is my go to. That being said, I use it because I don't get anything but Morgan Dollars graded, and that is where the selling value is top dollar for the high priced rarities.

However, being a Morgan collector, I also collect VAMS. That's where ANACS shines, they attribute ALL of them. One stop shopping, grading and attribution. So unless PCGS will attribute it, to ANACS it goes, even though I think their holders are very unattractive. It's hard to believe that PCGS does not attribute some of the more valuable VAMS. It's a shame ANACS didn't just keep the small soapbox holders, I love those.

I'll give you an example of the above. I just cherry picked an unattributed 1878P VAM84A Morgan, Long Nock,Super CD Elite Clashed Morgan Dollar. It's got a R5 rarity rating. To get it graded AND attributed I need to send it to ANACS. Then the grade and VAM will be on the face of the label on the slab. PCGS does not recognize the clashed version, only VAM84 (which is not as valuable). :muted:

PCGS received a submission before my membership expired / rolled over but wouldn’t apply my vouchers which was pretty petty and definitely poor customer service.

I am in this boat. I really couldn't care less about whose slab it's in or any "premium." I look at the coin. I've only ever submitted one batch of coins, mostly Canadian George VI. ANACS was great so my poll choice is them. I could submit at a local show so no extra shipping or insurance cost, and their customer service was fantastic. Because I'd picked conservation service for the whole lot, one of the top guys there called me personally to discuss the options and possible outcomes of conservation for my profile coin. That sold me on them until proven otherwise. They were pretty strict though. The "premium" for me for resubmitting to PCGS if I ever sold any would be that I'm pretty sure most of them would grade a point higher. MS63 instead of MS62 on a 1948 $1? Boom, $700 "premium."

You have got to be kidding me. What was their excuse? That is the ENTIRE point of buying a premium membership! :muted:

It straddled the line. They “received” it before the membership rolled over but hadn’t entered it into their system. Basically crappy customer service but ultimately my fault for cutting it too close.
