Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like.

    To enter:

    1. Go visit my giveaway prize store.

    2. Come back here to post an entry, stating which prize lot you would prefer.

    3. State why you chose what you did.

NOTE: That last bit is important. To qualify, you have to not only pick a prize, but also say WHY you picked it. Just a few words will do.

Alternately, you could enter on someone else's behalf. Just name them. In that case, you are not required to pick a prize or say why. Your designated proxy will get to pick their choice later, if your entry wins for them.

Your prize choice need not be final. I do periodically add new prizes to the giveaway goodies list, so if you win the drawing, you'll be given a chance to change your mind later, if you see a different prize you like more. I just enjoy reading everyone's initial selections up front, since it gives me an idea of what folks like.

Click the pic below to view the prize list.

The drawing will be done via random number generator sometime on or after the date mentioned at the top of this post. The timing will depend on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the drawing.

Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only further requirement is...

If you win, please post a notice of receipt in this thread after you get the prize, so we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track).

    Good luck!

    Numismatic regards,

    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM")

(It's an old picture, but since we're now in October, I am looking forward to seeing more of those great autumn sunsets soon.)

I'm going to enter on my own behalf this time. I would go for the City of New York token. I live very close to LI Sound and if I were alive back then I would have seen that boat sailing. On clear days in winter I can see Norwalk from my second floor.

    Biography
"White negress". She was born to Afro-Carribean parents in or near Kingston, Jamaica but a congenital disorder caused a lack of melanin pigment in her skin. Her mother was a house slave to the convicted highwayman, Sir Simon Clarke, sixth baronet (d. 1770), who lived in Spanish Town. In 1753 he sent Amelia to England as a present for his son, Kingsmill (d. 1765) of the Inner Temple in London. He subsequently sold her to John Bennett or Burnet, who owned a bird and beast shop off St Martin's Lane in London. Amelia was shown off to the Royal Family and the Royal Society, and she also toured the country. In April 1766 she was baptized in Devon, under the name Amelia Harlequin, and as was commonly believed by enslaved people at the time the act of baptism freed her and she duly left John Burnet to exhibit herself. Around this time she married a Mr Lewsham/Newsham, with whom she had at least six children. Olaudah Equiano (q.v.) wrote of seeing her in London in 1777: 'a white negro woman, that I had formerly seen in London and other parts, had married a white man, by whom she has three boys'. Her long career as a 'curiosity' included her display at the 'Curiosity House' in Islington, London, of Thomas Hall (q.v), and two related tokens dated 1795 are in Sarah Sophia Banks' collection in the BM (SSB.191.109.1 and 2). The last record of her dates from May 1798 when her appearance at a travelling show had caused a public disturbance in West Ham, Essex."

I'm in. My choice would be Lot #250906-02 because it would be my oldest coin and it's a type I have never successfully bid on.

@lordmarcovan those are all some fine prizes.

I would love the 1835 capped bust. The reason is that I do not own that type and it would be great to add. Thanks

Nyatii I like running w/scissors. Makes me feel dangerous

Thank you for the contest Rob & Bo.
Probably no great surprise...I would like the Crusader States: ca. 1163-1201 AD silver "helmet" denier of Bohemond III of Antioch if I win.
The reason: I'm stubborn...and it calls to me.
Here is a coin I received years ago in a lot of 24. I have no idea what it may be. The scale is mm.

Here’s an extra ticket in the drawing for @Nyatii, who tried valiantly for that last Crusader coin for months, only to have someone else snatch it away in the end. I’m glad I found another in my price range. :)

Here’s an extra ticket in the drawing for @Tall Paul, who’s been generous as a proxy contestant for others in the past. That geographical connection is fun.
