How do you determine the value of a Seated dollar with a hole? I’ve been trying to find one for a few months that is raw, but they are mostly in terrible shape. I’m trying to fill my type set book. I finally found one that had pretty good details, but there was a hole. I couldn’t find anything to help me with a value so hopefully one of you guys have an answer.
You are probably talking about a 50% reduction on the base value. Judging from Frank Robinsons' auctions at any rate.

Yeah, the 50% rule is a good rough guideline. I lack only one coin to complete my holed basic 19th century type set. Guess which type I lack? Yep! The Seated Dollar With Motto! I have the No Motto one.
In the old days, a hole reduced prices by a lot more than 50%. Back in the 1960s, I bought ann 1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar from Gimbels in Philadelphia for $6.50. It had VF-EF sharpness and was original except for the hole. Normally it would have retailed for $70 to $80.
