I’ve Never Seen A Holder Like This

    Collecting Nut Borderline Hoarder

    I picked up 14 new (lol) ancient coins and this was in the lot. It’d be nice to have the other 11 Caesar coins in this type of display but this is the first and only one I’ve ever seen.

    I can't say as I've ever seen one like that, either. Has a 1950s-1960s vibe to it.

    Somebody did a nice job on it, back in the day. Typewritten and with neat handwriting. State of the art for its day. Must have been a serious collector who owned it.

    Very interesting holder! Here's my "#5:"

    Claudius, with Agrippina Junior.     AD 41-54. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.58 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 51. TI CLAVD CAESAR AVG GERM P M TRIB POT P P, laureate head of Claudius right / AGRIPPINAE AVGVSTAE, draped bust of Agrippina the Younger right, wearing wreath of grain ears from which one long tie hangs down at the back, her hair in fastened in a long plait looped up behind her neck, two locks fall loose down her neck. RIC I 81; von Kaenel Type 50 (unlisted dies); RSC 4. Toned, some porosity, minor scrape on edge. VF.
