I can't believe there's a waiting room for a new mint release this fine day

Finally got in, placed order and was rewarded with: "We couldn't verify that you are human. Please refresh the page and try again."

I got 1 minute of waiting time, then up to 14 mins, must not like where I am browsing from - Europe.

Edited to add - I was actually able to order from Україна but shipping to a USA address.

 

And after my wait I was just emailed and told they couldn't fulfill my order.

 

The bag is sold out, but I was able to order a roll.

Like everything else in government it's an abject failure.

It did sell out. I ordered two rolls. Shortly thereafter I got an email confirmation that they changed me to one roll due to availability. Ten minutes after that I got another email that they couldn’t fill my order and I could check back later.

 

Better check your credit card. Sounds a lot like the gold phone.

 

I got my roll, thinking there would be no way in a cesspool I would get a privy marked coin so I just set it aside and forgot about it until this morning and opened the roll and the 21st coin has the wee 4th of July on it. At least selling it will pay for the rest of the ordinary coins that will be enhanced and released back into commerce.

 

A dealer said at my local club’s most recent meeting that big dealers have standing offers to buy the “fearless leader coins.” I commented that there could be resistance to the gold coin because of the high mint issue price which would be way over the spot price for gold. He indicated that was not a problem.

The end consumers for these items are in for a rude awakening in my opinion. The track record for most modern items has been “once hot, now not.” I’m glad that I’m an old, crotchety collector who is far more interested in “the old stuff.”

It used to be that modern coins were popular because they were cheaper and more affordable. Given the high issue prices on new mint coins, that is no longer the case. If I told a collector five years ago that the mint’s price for the base medal Proof set would be $110, they would have laughed in my face.
