Are you entirely certain this coin is authentic? Because I am not. I think this is an artificially aged fake. It's a pretty good fake, though.
Good question. I bought this from a Stacks/Coin Galleries sale in the early '90's. I would tend to think Stacks would know better. As far the toning, this has been sitting on a window sill on-and-off for about 30+ years during which time it acquired this toning. It had reflective surfaces at the beginning, If I recall. Edited to add: it does have very pronounced edge reeding. I don't know if fakes have that?
Stacks have been around for ages. It's hard to believe they would have a fake in their inventory let alone put it on the open market. Not like them at all. In my opinion.

I am using my making the grade book. I have her at XF-40. Market grading may have given a bump but that is also where my new Grading by Photographs book puts it too. James
