Here are some press releases from NGC about their purchase of the digital assets of the Krause Catalogs. These are what many of us remember as the Standard Catalog of World Coins (KM) and Standard Catalog of World Paper Money (Pick). From the link directly above: Just as some background: NGC and its parent organization, the Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), has a partnership and licensing agreement with Whitman Brands, designating Whitman as the official supply store for NGC and Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) branded products. Whitman Brands itself is thinking of creating World Coin and World Paper Catalogs, but they are not thinking of creating another Krause Catalog, at least in the form of its previous iterations (the telephone book-sized book catalogs or the Numismaster website). Whitman has stated, "Our catalog will not necessarily be based on Krause. To my mind that’s an antiquated cataloging system, and we don’t necessarily have access to it anyway – so [it's] probably best for us to create what we need here. eBay is going to start using our catalog so the work we do will benefit the market in a huge way. Also, once we get [the] catalog going, the pricing will be a huge step 2." ------------------------------------ In short, I'm not really sure what CCG/NGC/PMG/Greysheet/Whitman Brands are thinking of actually DOING with the Krause Catalogs (KM and Pick) and it's "digital assests." What is clear is that Krause's World Coin specifications are available at NGC (as they have been for a while), but a price section of the Catalog will have to wait until Whitman takes that on later...
