I picked up a few half dollars on Friday when depositing a check. One was a 2026P half. This is the first 2026 coin I have seen. I didn't expect the first to be a half dollar.
Congratulations on finding a 2026 coin. I still haven’t found a 2025 but I bought them and the 2026 to keep up to date.
Quarters, dollars, $5, and either $20 or $25. Paper $100, $250, $1000. But cash is on its way out anyway, coins even more so, and nobody in power is ready to make this kind of admission about what's happened to the dollar's purchasing power over the last century.
Cool. I've only seen a dime so far, and that was given to me by a local friend who got it in change. I so seldom use cash anymore myself (and coins even less frequently) that I don't see much.
I got my second 2026 quarter in change yesterday. It's marginally better than the first one, so I kept this one (for now) and tossed the other in the jar. I also got my first 2025 nickel (that I can recall). I don't think I've seen any other coins from 2025.
Huh. Still haven't seen one of those (although of course it's been more than a month since I've gotten change, period). But I'd been getting lots of 2025 nickels and dimes - even cents, back before The End.
