I really don't know if I got to share this coin or not. My Birthday was Jan. 27th. The coin would have come sometime in Febuary, but I wasn't home more than 72 hours at any one time for months; so even if I did I never saw any of the responses. I know it is not a rare date and is only a lowely VF-30, but I am in love with the small letter, early version of MS Seated Liberty. Here is my 1 840 Sm. Letter Seated Half in PCGS VF-30. James
Happy birthday, @samclemens3991! That is a nice VF30 with attractive toning. IMO, VF30 is a good-looking grade for SLHs. My set averages out at VF29. I also like the early small letters reverse seated Liberty halves more so than the large letters reverse. I liked them so much that I bought about a dozen extra 1839s to 1841s in low grades, and even an 1839 in AU55 to have a nice example of a small letters reverse. That was BEFORE I started collecting 1840-O die marriages, and I have at least a dozen examples of 1840-O halves now. Frankly, I'm happy to see you posting again. You are one of my favorite posters.
Thanks for all the kind sentiments. @Barberian ; I completely understand the fascination with 1840-O halves. I only managed to get 4 varieties at one time. James
