Curious Die Events on 2026-P Emerging Liberty Dimes

Recently, I won a roll of Dimes in a giveaway on a forum.


A series of articles in COINWEEK resulted! The research has been challenging and led down many dead-end streets! This may only be the beginning, as I continue to refine and modify my understanding.

Well done. Is it possible that instead of geometry differences, Denver just makes better dies?

 

Some of the earliest coins I have found have them, they are weak, Denver had the same problem just better quality control.

 

I have not found evidence for a significant difference in dies from Denver vs Philadelphia other than crown heights.

I know that differences in quality control is frequently mentioned, but I think that is only an assumption. No one I know of has provided any evidence of such differences.

I think that a real key point is that the mint does not see these minor die events as something worth worrying about and so makes no attempts to keep them from circulation.
