Here are two that needed restoration. A 1919 and a 1929. I know the purists frown on this but I enjoy it. A 1919 Buffalo nickel is a 1919.
Wow, that's impressive for one found in the wild! Back around 1992 or so, I got a 1937-D (four-leg) from a Pepsi machine that was about that nice- maybe even a little nicer. But that was just once in fifty years of collecting. I have found a few other Buffs in rolls, but most have been dateless or were low grade.
I used to work the vending machines in a place I worked at. About all the collecting I did over a 10-year period. A few Buffalo and War Nickels… but none much better than a VG. Still…I was happy!
I'm looking for a 39D nickel. I have built a complete set of Jefferson Nickels from Coin Rolls. I have some 39D's but need one directly from a coin roll to qualify for this set.
