Hi, Here is what I think is a 1943/2 Jefferson Nickel. The 3 clearly has a barb on the inner bottom loop, but the bottom of the 3 doesn't seem to be flat as if it is over a 2, which gives me pause. Could there be a barb on the 3 if the bottom of the 3 isn't flat(ish)? The third photo is a close up of the date. Thanks!
It doesn’t appear to be damaged, I think most collectors would say yes. The pictures available at NGC and Wexler show a favorable barb on the “3” almost identical to the OP. Looks to be a G4. NGC lists at $30.00…Spark
Thanks guys. Learned something new to me. I'd give 'em $40 for being a member. 1943 P Jefferson Silver Wartime Nickel 3 Over 2 Coin Value Prices, Photos & Info
@Spark1951 @SensibleSal66 @Collecting Nut @dwhiz Thank you for the insights, link and comments. Sometimes, I am just not 100% sure so I thought I would run it by the experts on Coin Talk! After three or so years of collecting, I am getting better!
Yes you are getting better. I’ve been collecting coins for 67 years and I’m still learning. Here’s a photo of one of my 3/2 WR Nickel.
