Couldn't resist this one, but now I have a bridge to cross when I get it. Will explain at the reveal. Common date, but I'll say more later.
Very nice coin. At least the pics are nice. I'm willing to bet absolutely nothing that it's a MS66. Great brilliant Silver.
I liked it. It irks me to pay bigger money for XF or less specimens to complete my Morgan set. So I spend my money elsewhere. Because of that, I'll never complete the set. But I'm easily entertained with a few holes unfilled. I really need to unload a bunch of duplicate dates/mints. What the heck, I might start filling up more boxes with Proof Like and DMPL just to thumb my nose at key dates.
Spectacular! I’m guessing MS67. No face chatter, clean field surfaces and brilliant luster! What’s not to like?
Thanks for the comment and guess. We have a lot of sharp eyes here, I want their opinion on grade. Appreciate ya!
The coin is very nice but it’s in a green label PCGS slab. Grading standards were tougher back then. I do think it would grade higher if cracked out and resubmitted today. With a green label the highest I think it would have been graded would be a MS-65.
66, now. But a regrade at 67 would make sense, too. But if you want to save the holder, try for a gold CAC bean.
I'll guess the rattler label says MS66, but it looks like it would be deserving of a higher grade. I think I'm seeing clash marks at the lips and next to eagle's left wing, but minimal marks otherwise. Very nice coin!
I briefly looked for VAMS with clash marks on the lips last night but ran out of time before I pulled the trigger, so far nothing. I'll just wait until I get a closer look. I'm hoping it has a doubled eyelid.
I like to scrutinize and form my opinion before scrolling down to see what others have guessed. In this case, my guess of MS66 joins the majority. Very nice coin!
Maybe VAM-11A? Hard to say without all the close-ups but it looks promising. Still a beautiful coin though, regardless of the VAM!
Until you get it in hand the VAM is going to be hard to tell.I have a couple of raw 11 and 11A vams around here somewhere, found in a roll I bought years ago. As for the grade, I think that the slab says MS65.
Low ball 65, high ball 67. I'll go with 66 all bases are covered coach. Supper nice Morgan love to have it. Congrats.
