Well, I was not able to get up to the PNNA Show in Tukwila like I wanted to. My youngest came down with a fever of 102 the night before and childcare won't watch them until a fever has subsided for 24 hours. Oh well, I was able to get out to a few local shops today and picked up a couple of jewels. So have fun with these two. The Eagle's lower chest on this one has an interesting frosty pit, almost like a strike through. But I'm thinking it was possible a planchet flaw that didn't get fully struck out. Not exactly sure on that one. The marks on Anna's cheek are breaks in the frost and not hits.
64 64+ or 65 I like the first coin more though, very attractive toning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I live south of Seattle about 150 miles. I'm down in the Portland, OR area. The coin I was referring to is the one that the comment was posted directly above. The the struck through in question is on the 1885-O.
The 1885 would make an interesting study for the reverse breast. Early inclination is to agree with your assessment. More magnification plz? I have 'em both at 65, with a happy face sticker for the '85 and a good argument for 66 on the '00.
