I am getting another package of coins ready to send to ICG. Do you think this quarter would get a straight grade with the spot on the reverse and the indent on the reverse?
It is hard to tell - is there a speck of foreign material at the center of the spot? If so, they will not grade it, you'll need to get the foreign material off. If the spot is just toning, it will not prevent a grade but it will lower the grade. It has poor eye appeal. It looks like a nice coin besides the spot, so it is probably worth it.
If I owned that coin I would not have it graded. It is a common date, has a few issues that you mentioned and I see dirt in the eagles claw. Makes me think this coin has been carefully cleaned.
Well, after all that, I sold it tonight on whatnot... I thought I would keep it, but I did a quarter show tonight with a lot of SLQs. Someone asked about a higher grade one, and I thought, why not? I think the buyer got a good deal, and I was happy with what it went for. I think we both won.
Starting to work for ya? Some spots are just deterrents for most collectors, and you made money on it.
