US Fractionals, Third issue, 10 Cents note

    Here's an interesting one for you all. This 10 cents note doesn't say "cents". When it came out some unscrupulous scammers tried to pass them off as $10 to unsuspecting recipients as the note does not say that it is 10 Cents.

    The note bears the metallic security features of the second issue of Fractional currency, but in a much more refined way, as the copper metal is now in the form of the numeral 10 both front and back.

    Reminds me of the "V" nickel that was first issued without the word "cent "and people would gold/copper plate them and pass them off as $5 gold pieces.

    Yep, this was my thought too.

    I know essentially zip about paper currency, but I do like Fractionals.
