1940 Mercury Dime

    Just curious, is this an MS coin, and are the bands fully split?

    I only have one other Mercury, a damaged 1921-D otherwise in nice shape which I found over 30 years ago in an assorted silver bin.

    Really need to do this one in-hand to do it justice, but I gave it MS62 FB.
    There looks to be some scuffing on the cheek and there is the big dent in the diagonal band on the reverse. But the bands look full…imo…Spark

    It does look like an MS coin with full bands; I'm at MS-63 FB.

    From photos it looks to be a low MS grade with split bands. Always better to have in. As for the 21D that you mentioned, That is one of the semi key dates, but I’m sure You know that.
