Is there a fee that can be paid to exempt a member from ads?

I'm also a supporter, but you can eliminate them from your phone by using Firefox as your browser with the Ultimate Adblock extension.

Supporter status is the way to go (worth it, and helps the site), but a good ad blocker program is another alternative.

I agree- without either of those, the site is WAY too polluted with sketchy ads, and my patience with it would wear thin very quickly if I had to see them all the time.

I think last time was $29? Maybe inflation or just bad memory.
Coin Talk, log into your account, hover over your username at the top right of the page, and select Account Upgrades from the menu, or navigate directly to the Coin Talk Account Upgrades Page to complete your financial contribution via PayPal. [1, 2]
They also take credit cards, that's what I use.

As far as I can see here, it’s still $29 a year to become a Supporter, as of this posting.

I'm curious if being a supporter also stops the constant tracking or whatever goes on in the background. With AdBlock I don't see the ads but each page spins and spins connecting to google analytics, Amazon adserver, twiddler, taboola (?) etc and I can hear my laptop winding up. I've gotten in the habit of hitting the Stop button every time I go to a page but it's annoying to have to do so.

I'm afraid that's all still baked into the pages, even for supporters. Sometimes it seems like one or another of those starts bogging down the whole site for me.

I should really look into setting up a pi-hole or something similar for those. I don't think they contribute any revenue to Peter or the site, and Google/Amazon/etc already know all they need to know about me.

I'm glad we have the option to be a supporter. The other morning I came here and ads were popping up from all directions. It was time to renew. The ads quit the second I paid.
