    And then they were bought by Norwest Bank in 1998. :)

    Actually they (Norwest) merged and the resulting company became Wells Fargo.

    I was in the corporate tax dept of Norwest at the time. Norwest was 4 times larger than WF at the time and placed the offer for WF stock. They kept everything about Norwest except the name and office location of the CEO.

    Bank of Italy. I think they changed it becausr of the fascists in Italy, (no google, I swear).
