Just got my 1776-2026 reverse Peace Dollar.
    Pretty, but a tad overpriced.

Looks really good. Personally I got the first ones and haven't gotten anymore since. Do you think the enhanced uncirculated version will be interesting or not much? The enhanced ASEs are really cool but I wonder what they'll do with these?

well I collected Peace Dollars and started collecting all the modern versions, even the ones in a Morgan set. The Enhanced Uncirculated Version is probably gonna be "not much". I've been thinking of stopping getting all these considering spot is under $60ish with retail of $173 ... yikes that's a lot of engineering, design and manufacturing overhead.

Too bad to a coin shop they're just worth spot. At least their "artwork" .. at least that's the way I look at it.

They look too much for me. I like older coins. The history is what interests me. ;)
I do like the reverse proof 2017 Kennedy Half though. (From my collection).

I missed the 2021 Peace. I did get my FIL the '23 proof.

I did get one of these Reverse Proofs, and I really like it, except the price....lol

I just went back in my US mint order history and reminised 2023. Inflation has hit the mint hard since then.....:blackeye:

That is a nice looking modern dollar. But for being modern at my age, it’s way too expensive. And I just bought an extremely expensive older coin that I needed to complete a collection. So that’s where IThat is a nice looking modern dollar. But for being modern at my age, it’s way too expensive. My 2026 RP Peace Dollar came a few weeks ago. I noticed something strange on the neck. When I looked at it under a microscope it look like it had a bag mark or contact mark from the reeded edge of another Peace Dollar. You would think a proof coin is individually loaded and removed from the coin press and would suffer this type of post mint damage (PMD)
Looking at it more closely the recessed parts look mirrored and the raised parts look dull I figure a contact mark should look the opposite with the recessed parts getting scatched up and abraded. Could this be some wierd die damage.

It looks like a bag mark to me.

These are supposed to be specially struck and handled. If so there shouldn't be any bag marks on them.

I think that it is a strike thru of some sort, A clogged collar die or finned rim was dislodged from multiple strikes and fell between the die and planchet.

From US MINT videos I've seen they seem to put the finished coins on trays by hand. Thus one can imagine a hand slip and dropping a coin onto another coin to create bag marks.
I do not know if they use their packaging robots for all products.
