The constant advertising on this website makes it almost unusable. Ads at the top of the page. Popups at the bottom of the page. Full page ads you have to X out of just to move from page to page. Is there a workaround? Maybe a fee that would exempt a member from ads? Probably something that has already been discussed, but I have been away for a while so probably missed it.
You can become a supporter to eliminate the ads. Here is a thread about it: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/become-a-supporter.290203/ and another thread: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/how-to-become-a-supporter.366069/
Yep. Become a supporter. Fwiw, 90% of the time I visit CT via my laptop, and the ads aren't really an issue. But when I do use my phone, it can seem almost unusable, as you said.
I can't use my phone for CT. Too many ads and demands to subscribe to a service that drives CT. Really ticked off about it.
Solution. Use your laptop or PC and install AdGuard for Free! The cellphone is too difficult as you all can see.
For heaven's sake guys! Be a supporter, it is only $20 a year and if you only use it once a WEEK it only costs you 38 cents a week. You can probably find that much laying on the ground.
Oh. I do support the forum 100%. Just have other things to worry about paying for. Sorry if I disappoint anyone. I also wanted to join my local metal detecting club but that's also on the back burner. Connecticut is a tough state to live in all! I've been here all my life, so moving at 60 is out of the question. Darn Utilities bills! We are lucky to just have what we can afford for broken down things like a leaking tractor (oil) and Leaking snowblower (gas leak). Don't get me started on the grocery bill and Electricity!! So sorry for the rant to.
Yes, there's really no reason not to. If you've got the time and money to collect coins and participate on the forum you should be able to find an extra $1.67 a month I would think.
I first joined when Doug told me about the option but it wasn't to avoid ads. I forgot what it was, but I joined out of thanks for his and other vets help here and their great information and informative posts. I'll be re-upping again ASAP in honor of Doug.
Been away for awhile Now there’s an understatement Like 15 years! Welcome back! Edit: You had quite a collection back then
