any info on this 1991 P dime that is missing the letter t from the word united on the reverse? it doesnt appear to be missing from damage.
It’s a common mint error. Nice to have, nicer to find but not worth very much because it’s happens very often. It’s called a grease filled die error as stated. Welcome to CT.
either of you be interested in it? i dont know anything about shipping stuff but i guess it could be mailed.
haha bored. all my family thinks it dumb but iv been looking through all my change for errors and such for years now. i have given so much away you wouldnt believe.
I have several missing letters or numbers on coins already. Keep it for yourself or give to a child. Thanks for the offer.
the facebook post was because it was late at night and hadnt got a response here? you offended? why are you looking on facebook if im not allowed to be on there? i dont get what your whole point is.... just to hassle someone?
It's almost a spender. 10 cent face value. It may be a "keeper" because it is an error, although minor. With grease errors (and most things) bigger is better. I often come across coins where, 1 digit in the date appears to be missing via a grease filled die that was not cleaned out completely. But once they start striking coins the grease gradually gets removed during the process and the missing digit where the grease is, becomes stronger and stronger. It is a keeper because it is a minor error, and it only costs 10 cents to not spend it.
Wow. Why the nasty attitude? It wasn't my intention to get you upset! I was just letting you know that I saw it there. All you had to say was "haha that's cool that someone from this coin forum saw my post on Facebook".. I was just trying to get your attention in a positive way. Sorry that I pressed your nasty attitude button. Just Chill buddy! I definitely won't respond or help you in any way from now on.
Many a folk come on here thinking that they should be given the opportunity to argue their point. Make a 4 page ordeal out of a minor everyday coin, I do agree that at times some digressions should be made, others feel that a simple line can be made in the sand. Getting onery with folks that have forgotten more about errors than you know usually isn't the way to strike up a conversation.
i never tried proving any point of mine here. simply asked opinions on my coin. 4 page ordeal? other than my orignal post to inquire if my coin was even an error valueable or not(which it was) i had only replied 2 times which were me trying to give away my coin. thats all i said before he let me know he wasnt happy about seeing my post on facebook also. he insinuated that i acted like the responses here wasnt satisfactory. what he didnt mention was that i had made that post on facebook before anyone had replied to this one also that i hadnt replied to the facebook post but i had to this one with only positive reaction. he never tried helping me with his opinion on my coin.... he should have just not even commented on my post. how in any way was i onery with him? if you ask me it was him that was being onery. he made his unwanted comment a whole day after the last reply on the thread was made. it was over why did he drag it back up if he wasnt even gonna talk about the coin at hand? is not the whole point of this forum for beginers to learn and get opinions on their finds? what did i do wrong here at all? please tell me and ill try to correct my actions.
You have returned after all this time? It must of been bothering you Just apologize so we can all get along and be friends.
no it hasnt bothered me haha i just dont get on very often at all because i stay pretty busy and iv had a few deaths in the family lately so i havent gotten around to going through my collections in a while. sir i would apologize if there were something for me to be apologetic about but i litterally cant think of one thing i could appologize for. you on the other hand completely lied when you said "It wasn't my intention to get you upset! I was just letting you know that I saw it there. All you had to say was "haha that's cool that someone from this coin forum saw my post on Facebook".. I was just trying to get your attention in a positive way." you wasnt just letting me know you saw my post and getting my attention in a positive way or you wouldnt have questioned if i was satisfied with my answers here when clearly i was if i was trying to give away the coin to the guy who told me that it was an error. you dont want to get along and be my friend. you didnt like my post but you liked the response to the guy saying he didnt want my coin? your trying to be passive agressive with me but your clearly just a liar.
Threads are open forever around here unless the thread goes off the rails. I am not a mediator here. I can't control what you say or what anyone else says. And what they or you say, and how it comes across is personal. Obviously, you and Paddy didn't connect. So, what I say is let's all get over it. You post your error questions, and we will do our best to answer them for you. PS it can be slow around here sometimes especially late at night.
yes i understand that it can be slow on here at times. thats why i made another post somewhere else also. with that said i never complained about the timing or quality of the responses i got here. that dude just came in out of nowhere giving me shit about having a post somewhere else. im over it lol it doesnt really effect me enough to worry about it but im just not gonna listen to his lies or someone commenting on my thread about me being onery when it is in fact him being onery.
