@GoldFinger1969, that 68PPQ is a beaut (and a * as a bonus)! My own 57B is a 64PPQ like the OP's example that I picked up a while back. @meandyou4ever0, go ahead and try to pick up the 57 and the 57A and complete the trio set! If you can find them both in 64PPQ from PCGS, it would make a nice display.
I have a bunch of 1957's and 1957-B's....my understanding is without a super-high grade, they're not worth much over FV ? There were so many bills printed from the 1920's onward...and so many saved...that unless you are in the high-60's (excluding low SN, unique block or other rare variable)....just no price above FV. Dealers have told me they don't want many of these super-printed bills even at FV...they say just spend it. One of the big differences between bills and coins....the much larger volumes for the former than the latter.
@philologus_1 thank you for the great info on the 1957 one dollar bill. I have one, given to me by a very dear friend. It's 10 years behind my birth year, but it is my wife's birth year. It's uncirculated and the "A" Series.
Wanted to see if anybody disagreed with me. I didn't expect big premiums but I was surprised by how many of the bills exist apparently in PMG-65 and 66 condition. The sales prices in the books must sometimes include the value of a formal grade plus the holder.
I have only 2. In the past I had around 7 or so, been a long time and I can't remember the exact number, but I had a so called friend put them in their safe for me and they ended up stealing them. The notes weren't graded but they were crisp and very nice. I do remember having a red seal and I believe the rest were blue.
Here you go.....Hawaii and North Africa $1 SCs....just fronts, can post backs if anybody wants (or they are somewhere here on another thread). Heritage weekly currency auctiolns are great places to buy even lower-priced SCs and bills. You can also learn about the bidding just by watching -- it's kind of cool to see the auctioner from TX or an AI version or whatever they use that week.
