Hello All, Meow was doing the daily penny CRH just now and found something interesting. Meow has a jar full of penny sized or near penny sized foreign coins found during the daily hunt. Maybe one day Meow will show all the different ones, but Meow is sure besides looking unusual compared to an American penny; They do not have much of value. But Meow just found a coin dated 1893 and looking quite worn. Meow is not sure if this is a coin of some denomination or a token of some kind. Anyone see something like it before? Austria, 2 heller. You have the obverse upside-down.

Quite common, and thus very inexpensive even in Mint State, but an extremely cool find nonetheless, considering it was out "in the wild" like that, after 133 years.

Definitely a cool find since it cost you... one cent!

According to Numista, in VG it’s worth 45 times your original investment. ;)

OK, Thank you. Meow found it in a bank wrapped roll out of a bank poly bag of 100 rolls. Meow was going to save it (the bag intact) But decided to open it as Meow found lots of cool coins in the previous 4 bags Meow had. Meow has one more bag of 100 rolls from this bank still left. Guess Meow will open it after Meow is done with the current one.

Oh, and yes Meow can now see it is a double headed eagle on the reverse now. Meow thought it was a shrub.

It does rather look like a shrubbery when you turn it upside-down like that. :cat:

Meow is taking a bit more time out in the open to share some of the odd finds Meow has found over the last year or so.

Meow has nearly a roll of canadian pennies. The two oldest ones Meow found is pictured in the above post.
