So my brother has been telling me for years about the coins my grandmother gave him from my grandfathers collection. I got the ancients, he got the "worthless" US coins left after Gramps' main collection of coins got stolen. He's got some medical costs coming that will be a burden so I said I'd look at his old coins if he wanted, double check him on that.

So he gave me part of it to look at. Let's see.... some Lincoln pennies from the 50s, sure. Some wheat pennies, uh huh. Wait, what's this: a nearly complete collection of Indian head pennies including nearly all key dates and varieties? Hmmm, did he even check? See a couple of examples below.

Alright, next box. War nickels, okay so some silver content. What's in this little metal one? Wait, what? is that like 30 Morgan silver dollars including five from Carson City?

Well, at least he didn't just sell these worthless old things to a pawn shop. I'll help him make sure they find a good home. Now, I wonder what's in the rest of the collection?

Sorry to hear the main collection was stolen but there’s still some good coins there. After you get some more posts CT as a Buy, Sell, Trade forum. Best wishes with your future actions into this collection.

I hope so, I know a few of them will need grading because they are so often faked. 1877 and 1909-S of course. But also the 1873 doubled liberty, though it's not high grade, just to get it verified. I guess some others too. Their not my coins so I'm not just going to do it, I'd probably front him the money and submit on his behalf or something though, assuming he does want to sell.
