    Hello Friends,

Of the many different coins I have, some of you know that I really enjoy the AGE series!
For the Series, 3 piece AGE Anniversary Set this is my favorite by a long shot...I photographed it out of the the set of three.

To me it is a beautiful (Reverse Proof) Modern Gold Eagle. The Green reflection on Liberty is from my card table's felt surface.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do...

    Regards,

    RickieB

    For Speedy....

    Howdy Speedster,
if you look at this thread the two images I took you will see the difference in lighting and exposure.

#1. The Obverse was taken with lighting by 3 stops faster than the second image, the reverse.

Same setting, same white balance same everything. Lighting is a very cool subject!

    Good luck..
Thanks for the comment everyone...it is really a nice set to have!

Camera ; Manual mode, f 8 Shutter speed 1/60, tripod mounted len's shot in jpeg normal.
File size was 4.5 MB. This image is severely compressed down to <90 KB.
Compression is not such a good thing because it deminishes fine digital detail.
If takem in RAW, the file size for the D2X is 17.x MB I am still learning about this stuff and if anyone can help me I am willing to listen.

    Regards to all...

I agree - that's a very cool effect - almost reminds me of the Statue of Liberty.

    Thanks for sharing! ;)

I was just getting ready to ask how you took these! Well I've kindof fixed my problem! I was useing 1 light and sometimes a photo of a silver coin would come out looking kindof brown....the only time this would happen is when I'm taking a really close shot of something like an RPM so I now do what the experts do.....turn the photos Black and White!!!!!

1954-D/D Nickel. Also as a side note! Today I broke open a roll of 1964-D nickels (never been searched) and the 2nd coin was a D/D! (RPM-002)
