I purchased this back in March and never posted it. It’s a 1832 Half Dime in about EX-40 condition. It does have a few dings on the rim but the coin is only 6 years shy of being 2 centuries old. It’s a beautiful gun-metal blue on both sides and the photos don’t do it justice. it’s the Capped Bust type with only 965,000 being minted. That’s the second lowest in the Capped Bust style. A lot less have survived today.
Nice, very nice. Definitely a bucket lister for me. I don't have any Capped bust of any series. I've only seen a capped bust cent.
Nice Baby Bustie. Once while detecting in NC at the site of an old meeting house, I found an 1829 Bust half dime. Despite 165+ years in the ground, it was shockingly shallow- in the grassroots- less than half an inch deep. I thought it was a piece of a pulltab at first (it gave that kind of signal). Unfortunately it had a hole in it. But I was still stoked to dig it. It's the only Bust coin I ever dug. My local buddy Steve Smith dug a pretty nice 1831 in one of my favorite hunting spots.
