    The prize I prefer is:

    (LOT: 2 items) Two pieces of very early proto-money, circa 3,000-400 BC

    Did I do that right? I'd like them because proto-money interests me. I just returned from Thailand and saw examples of theirs in a couple museums. People these days complain about "fiat money" but it's been around for a very long time.

    As per the rules in the intro, you need to state why you chose it- and also which 1922 Peace dollar, though I suspect most people would pick the ANACS MS62 example.

    You did that exactly right.

    Unfortunately, as it so happens, I just made a new local friend and gave that lot to him (not having been online first to notice your post). Hey, no worries, though- if you win the drawing, you'll still get the chance to pick a different prize lot.

    PS- I've always thought those ceramic gambling chips were cool looking and oftentimes attractively colored/glazed.

    My apologies. Yes i'd choose the ANACS MS62 1922 Peace Dollar because I do not have a slabbed/graded silver dollar in my collection(plus it's a beautiful example too!). Thanks for the reminder of the rules.

    Enter me please for the three 1964 Kennedy Half Dollars lot.
    I like the 1964 Kennedy being the first year they were made, and the only circulated Kennedy in 90% Silver.
    Hard to believe that these coins were made over 60 years ago, and that now makes them considered vintage coins by some. It is also fun that one of them was a bank roll find!

    Unless you changed your mind and wish to choose a different prize, you have won the medieval gold bele (1/10 fanam), as requested. It was the only gold coin I had in my current giveaway inventory. It's just a tiny speck, but really cool.

    I will of course require your shipping address, and shall message you shortly. Please remember to post a receipt notice in this thread after you get the coin, so we'll all know you received it.

    India (Vijayanagara Empire): ca. 1336-1646 gold bele (1/10 fanam) "World's Smallest Gold Coin", ICG certified

    Numista-67603.

    This is a gold bele, or 1/10 fanam. Even a full fanam is tiny, but these gold beles are extremely tiny! This gold “coin” of the Vijayanagara Empire, an Indian Hindu dynasty (1336-1646), is no larger than a sesame seed!

    It is certified and encapsulated as genuine by ICG and described as "The World's Smallest Gold Coin".

    There is only a very small speck of gold here, but it's a fun conversation piece.

    Provenance: gift of Michael Swoveland, dba WNC Coins, LLC, Asheville, North Carolina, Summer 2025.

    Cowries were used in Thailand during the Ayutthaya period, as well as the gambling tokens. The tokens were even used into the mid Rattanakosin era. Coweries are late 14th-18th and the gabling tokens mid 18th to late 19th.

    @weryon - your tiny gold coin was shipped on Friday, 7 August. I hope its journey to the other side of the globe goes smoothly.

    I was vague on the customs declaration (without being untruthful). I simply declared “metal artifact/plastic capsule” with a declared value of $5 USD. Maybe the gold content is about that much- I have no idea what it’s worth, really. It was given to me by a dealer friend.

    I see unencapsulated examples on eBay for $28 plus shipping. ICG certified ones like the one you’re getting seem to run from $28-53 USD plus shipping.
