The color seems a bit off, maybe from an old cleaning.

 

@Mr. Numismatist , I need better pictures, but, I also think you are right, that the obverse was probably cleaned lightly at some point. Luckily, no cleaning marks are evident.

 

I think this could be a VF-25 on a good day. Very nice looking and a first year issue with a low mintage.

 

Nice 1809 Dime! I agree with the consensus here, looks like a solid VF-20. The low mintage makes it a fantastic key date to hold despite the old light cleaning. Congrats!
