This one is already ANACS-graded. But, how would you grade it?

This coin is impossible for me to photograph properly so I had to shoot the pics at an angle. 1864-S Half Dime - OBV 1 - REV 1 - 15 July 2026 .png

I am thinking 53 but this is a series that I don't follow. The hair and the cap in this instance seem to show a bit of wear. yet the rest of the coin looks to have plenty of luster left.

I think that it is Mint State, but it is impossible to go further than that from the picture. The detail is all there, but the luster can’t be seen.

These smalll pieces get lost in NGC holders. Here is a PCGS MS-64.

And an over graded NGC PR-66. This was a poor buy on my part. We all make mistakes. The mint a "down period" with the Proofs it made in the 1870s.

I’d have to say AU-50 as I can see light wear in a number of spots and I can’t see mint luster in the photos. It’s another beautiful coin with a lower mintage. :)

I am in the AU camp. Really hard to see and get a feel for. When I used to try to take pictures the solid white holders (ANACs and NGC) always caused issues.
