this will probably sell out quick so you got to act fast. I think there's only 30,000 of them and they're very pricey. it's The gold standing liberty quarter and another 1 oz silver coin.

As of 9:24 AM EDT this morning, there are 60 dimes and 14338 quarters available. They are now saying September delivery.

Including pre-sales to authorized purchasers, that's just over 52% sold.

 

So this isn't a "hot" item....like the Caped Bust (privy) coin and that 2019-S Enhanced ASE ?

Sometimes a coin can fizzle pretty quickly....I think that happened with the JFK 3/4 ounce gold coins in 2014, right ?

 

It is not a hot item. The dime did not sell out right away but did seem to after a day or so (until returns/cancelations put examples back in inventory). Once people saw that the dime was not increasing in price and still available, that was a sign that the quarter would not be hot (it is also more expensive and the same mintage as the dime).

 

It seems you need either the privy status or a very low mintage number to stoke demand and trade at a fat premium.

 

These all have a "250" privy so it is not about the privy. Mintage is the main driving factor. The mintage is too high (at this price level), so that prevents it from being hot.

 

Okay but the mints goal is to maximize their income and not enable The Flipper Market

Not really surprising.

If you buy all five issues, you arr buying approx. three ounces of gold and 5 ounces of silver. At something like $3000 over spot.

If you choose to have them graded, thst another $750?

It's appealing to only a small, wealthy, collector population.

 

It's interesting people are spending $1,000 premium on eBay because they are still available on the US MINT website ....

 

Well, one is a presale of PCGS slabbed 70s. That could be a risk for the seller given the quality issues we've seen.

The other is just cray-cray.

 

And as of 6:25PM EDT today, after over three full days on sale, there are 13490 available.

Sell out? I have a feeling the Mint is going to be eating a good number of these. I hope they take that market feedback to heart.
