Kind of a rookie when it comes to paper but I have wanted one of these and a $500 note for awhile now. This one looked pretty decent to me. Maybe somewhere around 30 to 40? Was also called a mule note but I can't tell. 726660369_4421063471492982_5780434267014784649_n.jpeg 728116257_4421063551492974_7013068482745625698_n.jpg.jpg

Attractive note! There is always something special about a $1000 bill. :-D

This sounds weird, but one way to know if it's a mule is to measure the height of the tiny "8" on the back (far right). That's the back plate check number. If it's pretty close to 1mm tall (a "macro" number size) it's not a mule; if it's close to .6mm (a "micro" number size) it is a mule. A mule carries a very slight premium.

You probably know this, but your note is Friedberg catalog number: Fr. 2212-G

    I'd guess EF-40.

Thank you for your reply. That number looks pretty tiny to me but not sure if macro or mini

My plan is to upgrade the $500 to A/U 58 PPQ
just like the $1,000 note, then maybe climb
to a 64 but believe it or not there,s little difference between the two grades.

your notes are beauties. Mine is good enough for me. Not as nice as yours but not terrible. Will be looking for a $500 note now.

    For the budget conscious;)
both the $5,000 and $10,000 EF 40 book for around 185k but for some reason they printed double of the $5,000,s but you seem to see more 10K notes for sale

Could be that even moreso than the $5,000 note that the $10,000 bill was used almost exclusively for banking transactions and thus preserved more than "smaller" bills.

Maybe The Rich carried around these big bills for exclusive poker games or to purchase art or property or whatever.

If I sold my house..LOL, but being on the street with a $10,000 bill wouldn’t be the best decision :banghead:

Only an estimated 300 to 350 genuine $5,000 bills are known to exist today.
The 5000 wouldn't take up much room :p
Probably not a big return on investment as far as investing depending on how much $$ you won.
