I'm sorry but we have a miscommunication. I was talking about the accuracy of the scales. Not how much my coin weighed. :rage: lol

A few are copper bronze, and the rest is zinc copper? Only way you can tell is weight because the zinc copper planchet is 3.11 grams and the copper bronze is 3.0

I was talking earlier about a couple of my 1944 copper cents only weighing 2.89g and 2.9g, neither of them have a mint mark, can a lack of a mint mark change it that much?

Lack of mint mark means it was minted in Philadelphia. Some years don't have mint marks for Philadelphia till later. And I don't like P mint marks cause over time they begin to look like Ds lol

Where can you even get mint state coins? Or proofs.....and how do you know you don't have a proof instead of business strike?

You can probably ask for bank rolls of brand new Philadelphia mint rolls I think at the bank. Or just get lucky. Due to the fact they come new (mint state) sometimes because it's 2017.... lol and idk bout proof coin much.

Well I do know this much, if you find a presidential dollar coin with missing lettering on the side, it's a collectible. Lettering on side could also be upside down
