I got a box of dimes and a box of nickels at the bank today on the pursuit for 2026 coinage, and it's safe to say that I was completely blown away by the results. I ended up with 6 silver dimes, the first time ever finding silver in them, 3 war nickels, and some beautiful older nickels along with a satisfactory amount of 2026 coins. I even found 2 Buffaloes! That one, in my opinion, is even crazier than finding silver.
Very good, it seems like older dimes are showing up more frequently these days, great to see! And it's been years since I have gotten a buffalo in my nickels, hope to have similar luck soon.
I guess that's just rim damage at the bottom of the reverse of the right-hand Buffalo. For a moment I was thinking "is there a partially-raised ground variety?" Great hunt! I'm still looking for my first 2026 dime (and, of course, I'm always looking for silver...)
Got another box today, with even more results! Among the finds were a 1920 Buffalo, a 1939 (reverse of 1940) in Mint State, 2 1941-S pieces, and 4 2026's. I also found 2 beautifully toned pieces. The picture doesn't do the 2023 justice; its toning is quite nice compared to the picture. The 2011 is really nice as well.
Incredible for sure. In a box of 50 rolls of nickels, I found more than one complete roll (40+) Buffalo Nickels. There were 6 in one roll.
