The obverse design of Amenanos, the river god, is finely detailed, showing flowing hair and a serene expression. The reverse is particularly striking with the owl perched between the Dioscuri caps, a combination that seems quite rare for this Katane type. The overall strike is sharp, and the patina adds depth to the high points, enhancing the contrast of the relief. FROM WILDWINDS online AE19 of Katane, Sicily. 4.91g.
