Several users have contacted me about not being able to login to their CT account since the bot ban wave earlier this week. Site slowness is gone, but replaced with possible login issues. If you have experienced or know if anyone that has had Cointalk login website issues, please post here. If you can see this post signed out (lurking), but are not able to reply, please contact me here: geekpryde [dot] cointalk @ gmail [dot] com (remove spaces and replace dots, this is my mild attempt at keeping the bots from that email address) I am doing this specifically in the Coin Chat forum as it's publicly visible, while general and technical support subforums are not. This thread will be removed when such a time comes that there are no login issues or no one contacts the above email address or posts here on behalf of other members. I ONLY want information posted here that are login / logon related, AND ONLY since 6/30/2026 or later. Not old login issues from the past, and not misc. other technical support issues please. At this point I am only collecting data points to help see how widespread the issues is for Peter and the mod staff. Thank you, -geekpryde (moderator)
I personally have seen login issues on several of my own devices in past several days. So I know its not just false positives or people who forgot their passwords. If you clear your browser cache/ cookies, log out, you may not be able to log back in on that device, and you may not be able to login on a new device at all. The login in behavior that I have personally seen is as follows: (1) website accepts the password, (2) no error messages, (3) loops you right back to login screen (4) keeps you signed out. I am also looking into the possibility that this only effects users that have enabled 2FA. (authenticator codes on your phone, text codes, etc)
I could not log in until I clicked the "keep me logged in" checkbox on the login screen, then I was able to log in. Previous to that, the site acted like it accepted my password, but when the screen refreshed I was still logged out.
that tricked has worked many times in the past for others users (I assume it's cookie related). But for me this week, that is NOT working on several of my devices.
