I just jumped in there and ordered one set, for my coin collecting granddaughter (she doesn't know that yet as she's only five months old).
I grabbed one at 4pm, no wait no line. The price is really, really high, but the designs look cool and I like the history of it. Shoot, 50 years later and everyone's still crazy about bicentennial quarters!
Not I. I got my 2026 silver Proof set. It’s one and done for me. Now it’s “popcorn time,” mostly second hand from the blogs.
I signed up for notices when they became available. I’ve received several and two of those notices my cell phone was in my hand. I hit link immediately and the coins were sold out. What a joke.
Spend you collector cash on some real coins. Four or five years from now, very few collectors will care about this crap the mint is selling at inflated prices. One need only look at the price history for overrated modern coins.
Mine has already been shipped, as it was a Subscription. I don't normally buy non-Silver sets, but this being a 2026 I decided to get one.
Mine said it would ship August 20th. Lol. At least I got one - Mint website says they are "currently unavailable", so I guess sold out?
August 20th ? That's crazy .. but then so was the price. makes you wonder if they even printed all the coins yet before putting them up for sale. Oh, I mean minted 'em.
Kudos to the mint for selling out at those prices, they obviously know what the market will bear. They are on pace to produce 5-6 billion coins in 2026 (none of them pennies) so I'll take my chances finding them in change in the coming years. If not, c'est la vie.
Ugh, the mint is draining my wallet. Normally in the past the prices really were not too noticeable. But with the run up in silver/gold prices the amounts they want now are too high. Just got an email So that's gonna be $375 each .. if I didn't collect Peace Dollars I'd skip this. If they didn't do the combo I would not get the Morgan dollar.
