Any coin dealers with knowledge about Desert Find graded Morgans?

I've never dealt with Heritage Auctions before but I look at their US coins auctions coming up. Recently a batch of Morgans came up with graded Desert Find Morgans. I looked it up and it only mentions a small group of Carson City coins. However, the auction has many other dates and mint marks. What's this about, and what kind of find are they talking about? All I see online from Google are the Carson City ones.

I saw that too. Sometimes these pedigrees don't mean anything and anyone with a large enough submission can add it to the label (possibly thinking that it will add extra interest from bidders).

Yes, I’ve seen things like “casino hoard” on the label which means nothing other than a way to make a buyer think it means something.

I think it’s just a label, so to speak, that they are adding to make it sound more appealing. It’s a marketing ploy.

Did you see the toned Morgan auction too? It's crazy how much they sell for above list price.

I've seen some questionable marketing with pre-1933 gold and Saints....but you really do have some rich history behind the $20 Double Eagles.

I have had several dealers that have told me "naming a batch" of coins seems to make them sell quicker - not necessarily for more money, but seems to generate interest. Now I have noted on several coins what the collection was called - like tavern collection of type coins, live oak better date dollars, valkyries collection - just for my own personal information.

I looked through the Desert toned auction and was fairly disappointed as most were not that appealing and the few better toners were already well above my expectations several days before the auction ended. And not one of the 200+ was what I would consider a high end toner (much less a monster toner).
