A half ounce Silver coin for $750, a half ounce, anyone gonna buy one of these!! Mintage is only 2026 and only one Liberty bell coin per household! On sale 7/16, any thoughts? https://www.usmint.gov/freedom-ringing-liberty-bell-one-half-ounce-silver-medal-26LD.html
I see no great future for contrived rarities. Moreover, I see no denomination on it. In my opinion it is nothing more than a not-so-artistic art bar.
I guess somebody might buy these anniversary issues but IMO the mint has priced themselves out of reason.
Yes, we'll see how long they take to sell out, size below not that it matters it's still only a half ounce. Length & Width: 0.888 inch x 1.024 inches
I bought this one a few years ago, it's not silver or gold but it sure looks nice. I think I paid about $20.00 for it.
I'm not generally interested in medals, but I've seen a few medal designs from the Mint that I actually really liked. This is NOT one of them. My wife's been sorting through Dad's "small parts" cabinet from his workbench. We're all set for randomly-shaped metal chunks, thanks very much.
When the US Mint started competing with the Franklin Mint, it began earning just as much of our respect.
I could afford one of these pieces, and even the vastly overpriced piece in gold. I have zero interest in both of them I would have rather have some nice old coins.
To be clear, this is not a "coin". It's a medal, as the Mint's website states. Amazingly enough, it only took one designer to design both sides. If it had taken two or more, like some of our coins, they could have charged more!
