1861 Indian Head Penny - re-punched date or old, worn dies?....

    Hi,

    Here is my 1861 Indian Head Cent. If you look at the left edge of both 1's, it looks like they are bulging from the middle, like they are pregnant (see close up pic of date). The 8 and 6 look OK. I think this results from worn dies, but I am not sure - could it be a re-punched date?

    The top image shows a dent in the first 1 that pushed some metal to the side. Probably the same on the second 1.
