Just got back from the show. ICG did well but mostly because of submissions from two dealers. I heard from several dealers that the show was not so good this time. One said the drop in metals kept folks from selling or buying. Lakeland is next week. ICG will not be there. We are moving into a huge new building and have hired over twenty new employees and now have 9 graders (one only part time). Mike Johnson from NGC joined the team two weeks ago. The $10 rate for CT members still is in effect for a while.
Behaviorial science strikes again ! The item you want is now 20% off in price....and folks don't want it. But if it goes back to the previous highs...or exceeds it.....everybody wants in !!
People are spooked by silver. I don't recall it ever acting that crazy. As much as I love it, I don't trust it to go from here * to here * without killing me. Like: "Lizzie Borden's got your back dude. What can go wrong?" I'm glad ICG is expanding. Keep chomping at the feet of the bigs.
I mailed a submission over the weekend to the old address. Hope you are still receiving your mail there.
Weird psychology. If it's cheap, it must not be any good. I believe it's still about double what it was a year ago.
Thank you! I like ICG, but the market doesn't seem to very much. I like their holders just fine as well. Does ICG do attributions as well, and how much extra for those? Thanks for the info.
We have not been there for several years so I don't know about forwarding. However, we get a lot of mail every day and a postal worker may forward it. [ Yes, ANACS and ICG do more attributions than the big 2. CT members pay only $5 for attributions but mention the special rate. Additionally, for some coins the attribution is free and automatic even if the customer does not know what they have!
I attended the Lakeland show today. Yes, people are not happy with the price of silver. The 2026 coins are still hot. One dealer was paying $350 for the silver set.
I've been following silver ever since it had the Hunt brothers for lunch. I don't think it's ever been this crazy before.
What do you mean, they're not happy with the price of silver (down 45% from the highs) ? You mean the cost of sets like the one your referenced are too high ?
